Features
Automatic Tracking Capability
- Ideal for automatically tracking an airborne downlink from a remote vehicle.
- Automatic acquisition feature further simplifies the tracking function.
Advanced Antenna Design
- High gain and directivity to provide the maximum area of coverage.
- Selectable polarization to choose the optimum sense of polarization of the received signal as well as to use cross polarization to provide isolation from interfering signals.
Rugged Positioner
- Rugged worm gear drive with an automatic heater for reliability that is far superior to belt- or chain-drive positioners.
- Includes an RF rotary joint and an encased slip ring assembly with precious metal tracks and brushes.
- Continuous rotation without limits and a pan rate six times that of traditional pan/tilt positioners for rapid alignment of live shots.
Switched Uplook Antenna Option
- Available with an automatically switched uplook antenna to enhance airborne operations.
- The Uplook function is useful for tracking an aircraft when the aircraft flies over the receive system. As the aircraft flies over the receive system, the Uplook function automatically switches between the NuPod® outlook antenna and the uplook antenna.
Remote Control Operation
- The NSI MC5 can remotely control the NuPod®, which takes the microwave setup activities out of the truck and allows a single operator at the studio location to control both ends of the microwave link.
- Additional equipment in the remote vehicle can also be remotely controlled by the MC5, including transmitters and receivers, cameras and switchers/routers.
Quick Lift™ Antenna Deployment Unit
- Ideal complement for the NuPod®.
- Allows the system to be installed on a light duty vehicle.
- Safer to operate than a telescoping mast.
